Bore Work - John Doak from Baltimore, MD

My big bore work was done by a mechanic and former Honda service manager named Keith Barrett in Long Branch, N.J. He was recommended extremely highly by JP Grasmuck, and when I went to see him I was highly impressed. He has his own boring equipment and a fairly extensive machine shop, and several other CBX engines being rebuilt. He gave me a lot of his time telling me about the various overbore piston options including Wiseco, Arias, and JE and the pluses and minuses of each brand. Having used all three, Keith without reservation recommended JE for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is their being lighter than Arias or Wiseco.

I took the CBX to him complete and Keith removed the engine, did the big bore work, did a complete valve job with new seals, guides, etc., rebuilt the carbs and installed a DynaJet kits, and some other stuff, put it back together and road tested it, and the total bill came to just under $2,300.

The performance of the bike is absolutely night and day compared to the "before". I HIGHLY recommend Keith Barrett to anyone for any CBX work. His phone number is 732 870-8153, and his e-mail is Integritymoto1@AOL. com.
Keith did the work in a very timely fashion and all in all I couldn't be more pleased. He's also a super nice guy.

Hope this helps.

Pray for peace.

John Doak in Baltimore, MD
