The Importance of a Good Tank Sealer - Dennis McCartney, President CBXMan.com

We think our POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealant is the best product to seal the inside of a motorcycle fuel tank with. It is literally the first step we take when we take possession of a bike. During the course of our restoration business we had a couple of fuel tanks that were too badly damaged to be saved but before we disposed of them we cut them open to examine the inside. The first two pictures show the top of a 1982 Honda CBX fuel tank. As you can see in the second shot the inside of the tank has been sealed with one of our competitors products. The reason that we don’t use that product is because it has a tendency to release and fall into the tank rendering the tank useless. We have experienced that here and as this picture illustrates the product is peeling from the inside of this tank.

The second two pictures show the top of a 1981 Honda CBX fuel tank. You will note what happens to the inside of a fuel tank if it is left unsealed. The reason this picture is interesting is that it illustrates a part of the fuel tank that an owner would never be able to see without lowering a mirror into the tank so in most cases the rust would be occurring without the knowledge of the owner.

Two great reasons to use POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer in your tank today! - Order today!!
